The thick canvas stays in place, so you don’t need to tape it, and you can use it to cover any surface. Plastic drop cloths are slippery to walk on or set a ladder on and don’t stay in place. Even worse, paint spills on plastic stay wet, and they can end up on your shoes and get tracked through the house.  Canvas is slippery on hard floors, so rosin paper is better over vinyl, tile and hardwood. Tape the sheets together and to the floor to provide a nonslip surface.
Small random-orbit or pad sanders make this job go faster. (Wallis first covers these boundaries with Synkoloid patching compound so no edge is visible after sanding.) As shown, you want to make sure that there is a feathered, smooth transition from exposed wood to old paint. For areas that might get close scrutiny, you can follow up with a 100- or 120-grit rubdown to erase any scratches.

#2 Many time, homeowners complain about the paint quality as they often see stains come through the new paint and show up on the wall again. Again, it is important to prep the surface, ust the proper primer. If you have tough stains on the exterior walls prior to painting, then make sure you use a quality stain block to prevent the stain from bleeding through.
With Harrington's, you receive individual attention, both in the field and in the office, from start to finish. We want our project to run seamlessly and transparently to you. Communication is the key to completing a quality project on time while meeting and exceeding your expectations. Painting processes begin after an on-site walk through of the areas to be painted with the assigned team leader. Items covered include:
Caulk and seal any windows or openings to prevent air and water from leaking in. This may be the most important part of the prepping process. It's important to have a well-maintained, beautified, non-rotting wood house, but it's just as important to make sure that the windows, cracks and openings aren't leaking air or letting in water, which can ruin the interior of your house. Depending on the severity of the deterioration, you can even resort to using a heavy duty, professional grade, industrial caulking.[6]

Follow the shade. When you are painting the exterior of your home, you would be wise to follow the shade from your house and avoid the sun. As the sun moves around your house, try to avoid the sun as much as possible because you may become overheated with the sun beating down on you, and painting in direct sunlight (depending on the heat of the day) is not good for the application process and can cause bubbling/adhesion issues. By moving with the shade, you minimize these potential problems.
We were more than happy with the work Southern Painting did for us!  They were very patient with us during a bumpy time in life....causing one delay after another (on our end) and when we were finally able to get started, they were ready to go!  Their crew was efficient, considerate and careful.  They did a great job painting our exterior while protecting everything else from any overspray.  Our house looks beautiful and refreshed!  I highly recommend!  We worked ...
